Câu so sánh trong bài thi VSTEP – so sánh hơn, nhất, bằng, kép và cách dùng khi Nói

Câu so sánh trong VSTEP: cheaper than, more convenient than, the most, as … as, the more … the better

Công thức so sánh: tính từ ngắn thêm er và est, tính từ dài dùng more và the most, so sánh bằng as … as

Bất quy tắc cần thuộc: good → better → the best · bad → worse → the worst · far → further → the furthest · many/much → more → the most · little → less → the least

Tính từ hai âm tiết tận cùng -y: easy → easier → the easiest; busy → busier.

So sánh kép

The + so sánh hơn + S + V, the + so sánh hơn + S + V
  • The more you practise, the more confident you become.
  • The earlier you start, the better your results will be.
  • The more cars there are, the worse the traffic gets.

Một câu so sánh kép đặt ở kết bài Writing hoặc cuối câu trả lời Speaking để lại ấn tượng tốt.

Dùng trong Speaking Part 2

Đề mẫu: You are going to work in a city 10 km from home. There are three options: motorbike, bus, and bicycle. Which is the best choice?

I think the bus is the best choice. First, it's much cheaper than a motorbike because I don't need to pay for petrol or parking. Second, it's safer, especially during rush hour.A motorbike is faster, but it's more tiring and more dangerous in heavy traffic. A bicycle is the most environmentally friendly option, but 10 km is too far to cycle every day, especially in the rainy season.

Cấu trúc gợi ý: nêu lựa chọn, đưa 2 lý do có so sánh, rồi loại từng phương án còn lại bằng so sánh. Xem chi tiết tại Speaking Part 2.

Dùng trong Writing Task 2

Although online courses are more flexible than traditional classes, they are not as effective for students who lack self-discipline.
Studying abroad is far more expensive than studying at home, but the experience is often much more valuable.

Câu hỏi thường gặp

Speaking Part 2 có bắt buộc so sánh cả ba phương án?

Không bắt buộc, nhưng nên làm. Giải thích vì sao hai phương án còn lại kém hơn giúp phần nói đủ dài và cho thấy khả năng lập luận, hai điều giám khảo đánh giá cao.

Tính từ hai âm tiết như clever, quiet so sánh thế nào?

Cả hai cách đều được chấp nhận: cleverer / more clever, quieter / more quiet. Khi không chắc, dùng more thường an toàn hơn với tính từ dài.
